About this artwork:
"This work explores the ever-changing profile of one of our popular islands. Although Rottnest/Wadjemup is generally perceived as a carefree, family destination; it’s dark past is recognized in a depiction of reverence and solemn reflection. The clash of histories from pre-colonial past to the contemporary is indicative of our identity as a young nation. It is hoped this dialogue creates respect, recognition and reconciliation."
